Dungeons & Dragons was unleashed on the world 40 years ago this weekend and we’ve been rolling the dice ever since.
D&D launched an entire industry, built some amazing communities, and along the way has entertained countless people. That’s an amazing feat for something that started out as a home-brew war game.
Here’s the story of how I found the game.
This weekend I’m traveling to an SCA event so I won’t get to roll any dice in honor of the occasion, but I’ll lift a glass of something tasty in tribute to Gary Gygax, David Arneson, and the game they gave us.
Happy 40th Birthday Dungeons & Dragons!
